Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get my results?

You will receive an email from Lab Support during registration at the time of your COVID test.

  1. Check your email for a message from Lab Support. Click the link to confirm your email address and create a password.

  2. Log in to the portal using the username and password that you chose when you signed up.

  3. Select the “Verify Your Identity” option. Accept the Patient Authorization (HIPAA Authorization).

  4. Complete the Identity Verification Process.

  5. You’re set. You will now get your COVID test results through the same account you created.

*Please check your junk folder for the registration email if you do not see the email in your inbox.

** Registration must be completed to receive your results and the following information associated with your account must match the information you provided for this testing. Full name, date of birth, full address (street, city, state and zip code) and your 10-digit phone number.

National Institute for Molecular Diagnostics (NIMD) will not call you with test results unless further action is needed, or if you have informed us that you do not have computer access on the day you tested.

If you are unable to retrieve your results from the Lab Portal, call 336-763-2023 and leave your name, date of birth, a number you can be reached at and a message that you need help with your results.  A NIMD staff member will return your call to assist you.  Please do not call NIMD until two business days have passed since you were tested.

How soon will I get my results?

Results will be available in 24-48 business hours. If you do not receive your results after 2 business days, please call 336-763-2023 and leave a message that you have not received your result. A NIMD staff will return your call. Example: If you test on Friday and you do not receive your results by Tuesday, then give us a call on Wednesday.

Please note that you are to remain in quarantine until you know your results.
If you are positive, you will need to isolate.

Quarantine is used to keep someone who might have been exposed to COVID-19 away from others.
Isolation is used to separate people infected with the virus (those who are sick with COVID-19 and those with no symptoms) from people who are not infected.

What should I do if my test comes back positive?

What should I do if I have a question?

Please call 336-763-2023 and leave a message that you were tested at a NIMD site and have a question.  A NIMD staff will return your call.
